“For Time” with Myriad – Episode #116
If you’ve listened to For Time before, you know the format. Ten to fifteen minutes, quick hits, what’s happening at the gym this week. This episode isn’t that.
Coach Jared and COO Marta sat down for a longer, more honest conversation about the biggest thing we’ve done at Myriad in quite some time. We’re expanding HYROX in Indianapolis, by a lot, and we wanted to explain in our own words exactly why, exactly how, and what it means for you.
A Little History First
Some of you remember Bootcamp (for the OGs it used to be called SWIFT). For years it ran alongside CrossFit as its own thing; its own schedule, its own coaches, its own energy. In January 2025, we made the hard call to sunset it.
The honest truth? We’ve felt that gap ever since. We went from roughly 350 members to hovering around 300, and CrossFit, even with Level Method, can be intimidating for a first-timer. HYROX fills that lane.
Why HYROX? Why Now?
A few things Jared and Marta shared on camera that every member should hear directly:
People are already finding us. “HYROX” and “HYROX Indianapolis” are the top two organic search terms driving traffic to Myriad right now. We show up first because we started building this before almost anyone else in the city.
3 out of 5 sales consults mention HYROX. Until now the honest answer has been: “We have it on Thursdays.” That’s a tough sell. That changes now.
We were early. Myriad became an official HYROX affiliate in Indianapolis in April 2025 — one of the first in the city. Everyone from Orangetheory to the YMCA now has “HYROX classes” on their schedule. There’s a difference between calling something HYROX and actually training for a HYROX race. We do the latter.
The market is here. Indianapolis is a running-first city. The Mini-Marathon in the spring, Monumental in the fall. A huge portion of those runners are looking for something more structured to train alongside their running. HYROX training in Indianapolis is exactly that bridge.
What’s Actually Changing at Myriad
The schedule. HYROX classes in Indianapolis at Myriad are now live on Tuesdays (6:30am + 5:00pm) and Saturdays (9:00am) alongside our existing all-day Thursdays. Three days a week to start. We are calling this Phase One of the launch.
**Also worth noting: the 6:45am CrossFit class is moving to 7:00am Monday–Friday starting July 27th.**
The space. A dedicated 2,000 sq/ft HYROX Training Zone near the garage door at the Stutz Building in downtown Indianapolis. Four permanent sled lanes. SkiErgs on the perimeter. Wall ball targets on the wall. A TV running Level Method HYROX programming every single day.
The class cap. Tuesday and Saturday HYROX classes are intentionally capped at 12 people per class. We want a quality experience in that room, not a crowded one. Sign up early.
What’s NOT Changing
Your CrossFit membership. Your schedule. Your coaches. Nothing about the CrossFit experience at Myriad is changing. HYROX lives in its own zone, coached separately, running in parallel so the two programs never compete for the same floor, the same coach, or the same energy.
Current members get free access during the launch phase. Try it a few times. No pressure, no commitment. After the soft launch wraps up, HYROX becomes a paid add-on, and we’ll give you plenty of notice before that happens.
The Lofty Goals for Myriad HYROX
Jared said it on camera: “Why not go big?”
By July 21st, 2027, here’s what we’re building toward:
- HYROX classes SIX days a week at Myriad Fitness + Yoga
- @myriadhyrox on Instagram with 1,000 followers by October 24th, 2026 — go follow it now
- Permanent leaderboards for Myriad Simulation races and official HYROX destination races
- 100 new HYROX member. More athletes, more community, and a gym that stays strong for years to come.
That last one is the north star. More members means more community. More community means Myriad is around for a long, long time.
Come Try HYROX in Indianapolis at Myriad
The soft launch runs through August. First access goes to current members. Come try a class, give us feedback, and help us dial this in together. Some of the best ideas this gym has ever had came from members who just spoke up.
