“For Time” with Myriad – Episode #108
The 2026 Myriad HYROX Spring Simulation is almost here — and if you haven’t registered yet, here’s the short version: Saturday, May 16th, roughly 19 spots remain, and the price goes up $20 on May 1st. Here’s everything you need to know about race day, divisions, sponsors, and how to prepare.
How Big Is This HYROX Simulation Race?
Big. We already have 111 athletes registered across all divisions, and we’re closing in fast on our cap of 130. That leaves roughly 19 spots available — across all divisions combined. If you’ve been thinking about it, now is the time to stop thinking and start registering.
And just to make the math easy: registration prices increase by $20 on May 1st. Sign up before then and you’ll save money and lock in your spot.

Race Day Schedule & Format — HYROX Indianapolis, May 16th
Heats begin at 8:00 a.m. and run every 10 minutes throughout the day. This year, we’re bringing back the fan-favorite format of 4 athletes per heat — the same setup we ran last spring that turned the gym floor into organized, electric chaos. More athletes on the course simultaneously means more energy, more competition, and a much better atmosphere for everyone.
We start with heavier weight divisions and work down to lighter weights to keep the event running smoothly. Buffers will be added between divisions and when weights change.
Division Breakdown: Who’s Racing?
- Individual Male: 18 athletes registered — a stacked, competitive field
- Male/Male Teams: 9 teams
- Mixed Teams: 10 teams (more than ever before)
- Female/Female Teams: 23 teams — a record for our simulation
- Individual Female: 5 athletes
One thing worth noting: the majority of registered athletes are not Myriad members. We’re pulling competitors from all over Indianapolis and across Indiana — which makes for an exciting, diverse competitive field.
Movement Standards: What Judges Will Be Looking For
We love you. We want you to PR. We will also no-rep you — and we want you to know that going in so race day isn’t a surprise.
Here are the three movements that trip people up the most:
- Burpee Broad Jump: Feet to hands must be no more than 30 centimeters (about 12 inches). Jumping forward and falling into your hands is not a valid rep.
- Sandbag Lunges: You must fully stand between reps. No duck walking.
- Wall Balls: Please get below parallel. Film yourself. Squat to a box. Ask a coach. This one gets called more than anything else — and for good reason.
Judges are volunteers giving up their Saturday to make your race great. Be kind, follow the standards, and you’ll have a smooth race.
It’s a Full Myriad Fitness Festival Weekend
The HYROX Simulation on Saturday is just the start. On Sunday, May 17th, the Myriad Weightlifting Team — coached by Coach Dan German — is hosting the Myriad 500 Weightlifting Meet. If you have no plans that weekend and show up at the gym, something incredible is guaranteed to be happening.
2026 Sponsors & Partners
This year’s event has an incredible lineup of sponsors making race day even better:
- Athletic Annex (Title Sponsor) — Gift certificates for 1st and 2nd place in every division. A Puma brand rep will also be on site — Puma is the official global sponsor of HYROX.
- Sweathouz — Cold plunges available on site, free for all athletes post-race. Bring your bathing suit and a towel. (Locations in Broad Ripple, Carmel, Fishers, and coming soon to Bottle Works.)
- Tinker Coffee — Day-one supporters, back again with coffee and athlete prizes on site.
- MyoFit — Providing athlete hydration and post-race recovery services. If something’s feeling tight after the race, stop by.
- Leslie, Myriad Coach & Realtor — Sponsoring post-race athlete snacks. Because she’s that person.
Want to Help? We Need Volunteers.
Not racing but want to be part of the energy? Volunteers are the backbone of this event, and there are roles for every comfort level:
- Registration & check-in
- Heat corralling (announcing heats, sending athletes to the start)
- Judging wall balls, burpees, and sandbag lunges
- Cheering on the outdoor run course and directing pedestrian traffic
- Resetting SkiErgs, rowers, and sleds between heats
If you’re not sure what role is right for you, reach out and we’ll match you. Every volunteer makes a difference.
