Week 1 Recap: Myriad Intramural Open Workout 26.1
The first week of the Myriad Intramural Open is officially in the books, and if Workout 26.1 taught us anything… it’s that wall balls and box jump overs are a serious quad burner.
Our three team captains recently sat down to recap the first workout of the season, celebrate standout performances from our community, and rally their teams for Week 2 of the competition.
If you missed the recap video, here’s everything you need to know from Week 1 of the Myriad Intramural Open.
What Was the CrossFit Open Workout 26.1?
The first workout of the season delivered exactly what the CrossFit Open is known for: a simple workout that quickly becomes a test of grit.
Athletes worked through a demanding combination of:
- Wall balls
- Box jump overs
- Med ball step overs (this year’s new movement)
While the med ball step overs provided a small opportunity to catch your breath, the rest of the workout was a true endurance challenge. Most athletes agreed it wasn’t about technique—it was about how long you could keep moving for 12 minutes while your legs were on fire.
Between the burning quads, rising heart rates, and the mental battle of “just one more rep,” 26.1 was the perfect kickoff to this year’s Myriad Intramural Open competition.
Current Team Standings After Week 1
After the first week of workouts, the leaderboard is already getting interesting.
🥇 Team Green (Freaky Frogs): 222 points
🥈 Team Gray (Koala Bears): 209 points
🥉 Team Black (Kiwi Birds): 111 points
Team Green jumped out to an early lead, but with two weeks still to go, the competition is just getting started.
Team captains are reminding everyone that participation is everything. If you completed the workout, make sure your score is entered so your team gets the points!

Looking Ahead to Week 2 of the Intramural Open
Week 1 brought the sweat, the energy, and plenty of friendly trash talk between teams. But more than anything, it reminded us what makes the Myriad community special.
For Week 2:
- Wear your team colors!
- Show up to class and do the workout!
- Enter your scores in Chalk It Pro! (that’s the easiest way to score points)
- Cheer on your teammates!
Whether you’re chasing the leaderboard or simply pushing yourself to try something new, the Intramural Open is about doing it together.
Let’s keep the momentum rolling into Week 2.
And as one team captain perfectly summed it up:
“Let’s frogging go.” -Zoe
