Yoga Pose & Focus : 6/21-6/26

“A tree with strong roots laughs at storms” -Malay proverb

Focus:
Welcome to Cancer season. This watery, whimsical sign invites us to investigate our connection to safety, security, and maternal insttincts. We dive right in this week with our focus of muladhara- the root chakra. The root chakra is our sense of security and stability, when out of balance, however, we may struggle with insecurities and fear. The root chakra is at the base of our spine and is represented by the color red. This is a wonderful center to work with to seek balance and we invite you to do so on your mat!

Pose:
We’ll be practicing gomukhasana (cow face) in align and flow classes, and supported shalabasana (locust pose) in stretch/ restore classes. Enjoy activating the base chakra through these hip opening and back muscle strengthening postures.
