“The valley spirit never dies: It is the woman, primal mother. Her gateway is the root of heaven and earth. It is like a veil barely seen. Use it; it will never fail.” -Lao Tsu, Tao te Ching
Our focus is Aditi, who is the great goddess. Summer is such a fertile time that mirrors the beauty and effervescence of the goddess icon. You don’t need to be female or identify as female to appreciate this theme. Maybe you celebrate the fertile, festive summer by going to the farmer’s market – and all the goodies that are spilling over from the earth this weekend, or perhaps you take some time to connect a little deeper with your creativity. It’s time to shine bright like the sun, tap into our creative, flowy, maternal selves and soak up the sun! Before we know it father winter will roll us back inside asking us to turn inward, so for now get out there and glow!
This week we are getting deep into hips and shoulders with our poses of deviasana for higher energy classes (flow/align/sadhana) and sailor’s knot for our slower, more restorative classes (stretch/restore).
