Yoga Pose & Focus : 11/8-11/14

“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of being.” – Carl Jung

Theme: Tejas
Tejas is the fire of illumination and/or transformation. In contrast to the darkness of Rudra, there is always the light of transformation waiting at the end of the tunnel. How can we use our darkness to transform? Perhaps we can view it that as Shiva burns down that which needs to be destroyed – what will then rise up from the ashes?

Flow Pose: Titthibasana
Like all arm balances, titthibasana challenges your focus, your fears and your ego. How can we approach this posture with playfulness? Is our ego encouraging us to force our way in? Are our fears creating resistance? Remember, it’s about the journey on our way to transformation. We must sift through the challenges to get to the good stuff at the end.

Restorative/Yin Pose: Supine Gomukhasana
Supine gomukhasana is a deep stretch for the hips and upper legs. Hip stretches have a tendency to release sensation and emotion for some of us. Notice what comes up for you and breathe through the rough patches, something good is waiting on the other side.
