BACK TO BASICS: PREPPING FOR MURPH!

CrossFit Deep Dive returns to Myriad on Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:30 pm with a focus on preparing for Murph! You will here “Murph” thrown around a lot this time of the year. You may ask, “why are we running SO much in classes right now?” “why so many push-ups???” Well, the answer is, Murph!

A little call-back to our “For Time” post: Memorial Day Murph is a HERO workout that has become a tradition in the CrossFit world. It is typically hosted at most gyms worldwide on Memorial Day weekend. At Myriad, we’ve historically run this workout on the Monday of Memorial day and we host hybrid classes of both Bootcamp and CrossFit lasting 90 minutes together. The workout can be altered in many ways to keep it fun, safe, and challenging per your individual skill level.

For time:
“MUPRH”
1-mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 air squats
1-mile run

Join Coach Marta on May 22nd to talk about the ins and outs of Murph: how do we make smart plans to get us through this long workout? What should we expect? Do I have to do all 100 pull-ups in a row??? We will go over the foundations of proper pull-ups, push-ups and air squats and discuss a few different strategies for success.

If you have done Murph before but want some help with strategy, or perhaps are trying it out for the first time and don’t know what to expect, this class will be for you!
